The files of the Holocaust Victims’ Information and Support Centre of the Jewish Community ("Anlaufstelle der Israelitischen Kultusgemeinde Wien") reveal that Berthold K. and his mother succeeded in fleeing to Mauritius via Palestine after having paid a tax for escaping from the Reich, the so-called “Reichsfluchtsteuer“, in 1941. Valerie K. died in Mauritius, Berthold K. now lives in Tel Aviv.
The files are now located at the Holocaust Victims’ Information and Support Centre of the Jewish Community Vienna.
