Academic activities of VWI-Fellow Rory Yeomans
On 4 November VWI-Research Fellow Rory Yeomans spoke at New York University’s Eastern European Workshop on Terror in Real Time: Bringing the Victims back into the History of the Holocaust in Croatia and on 6 November at the Russian and East European Studies Center, University of Pittsburgh on The Economics of Human Destruction: The Holocaust and the Building of an Ethical Marketplace in Fascist Croatia, 1941-1942.
Rory Yeomans’ new edited volume The Utopia of Terror: Life and Death in Wartime Croatia is published by Rochester University Press on 15 December. And just out now is an article he wrote for a special two-volume edition of the Russian history journal Beregynia on fascism and the radical right in Europe for which he was also the co-editor. His article is called Modernity, Social Transformation and Genocide: Ustasha Rule in Fascist Croatia, 1941-1945, 26, no. 3 (October 2015): 63-75.
He also gave an interview on the Canadian syndicated Charles Adler radio show on 3 November talking about the Holocaust and how it continues to impact on the present.
