JEWISH MUSEUM VIENNA (JMW)

The Museum was re-founded in 1990 and opened in 1993 in the Palais Eskeles and then in 2000 the museum was expanded to the Judenplatz. The museum dedicates itself to presenting an encompassing look into Jewish life in Vienna during both the past and the present. The concept of the museum is embodied in the word “memory”, which is the key to Jewish culture and history. The concept of “memory” is seen intertwined throughout the permanent exhibits, as well as the many changing exhibitions. The many events, the Bookshop Singer and the Café “Teitelbaum” create a place for coming together.
