Ariel Muzicant, Dr., President of the Jewish Community Vienna and the Confederation of Jewish Communities in Austria (since 1998).
Born in 1952 in Haifa, a resident of Vienna since 1956; studied medicine at the University of Vienna, Dr. med. degree in 1976, one year as a medical resident at the Wilhelminenspital in Vienna. Following the sudden death of his father, in 1977 he took over the management of Columbus Immobilien in Vienna which has been affiliated with the international Colliers group since 1994. The company, where he is the sole owner and managing director, is one of Austria’s leading real estate agencies. 1970-1976: various functions in the Jewish Hochschülerschaft [official representation of university students] in Austria (member of the Executive Board, President), 1975-1979: President of the Association of Jewish Youth in Austria. Active in various committees of the Jewish Community Vienna since 1976. Member of the Community Council (Kultusrat, Executive Board) of the Jewish Community Vienna since 1981, 1981-1998 (with the exception of 2 years): Vice President of the Jewish Community Vienna.
